It shows the length, attenuation coefficient, connection point, fault points and loss distribution curves of the fiber as well as loss between two points, slice loss and return loss. This palm-sized OTDR is widely used in loss characteristics analysis and fault point location in the manufacture, installation and maintenance of fiber optic networks.
The multi-functional optical time-domain reflectometer, model 2000, supports up to six pairs of simultaneous test result comparisons, and any single result is observable. The OTDR provides two on screen markers that can be used to zoom in and out on curve details. The instrument automatically locates and creates list of fault points. The test results and event analysis lists can be printed through the print-screen-function, which enables the user to upload data to a PC. This handheld OTDR has a rapid response time which allows it to finish a 50km fiber measurement in 30s with a high S/N ratio. The optical time-domain reflectometer features a compact size and easy operation making it convenient for outdoor testing. A large battery capacity enables a continuous operation of more than 12 hours.
